Romance
Kennedy and Mara become partners in science class. Both freshman, they are nervous and find comfort in each other. In a few months this becomes much more than a friendship, and Mara tells Kennedy her feelings, scared of what Kennedy might think. Kennedy is startled to learn that Mara likes her back, and they quickly form a secret relationship. When Mara's father checks her phone one night, he realizes what's been going on. He separates Mara and Kennedy and makes sure that Kennedy's parents do the same. He tells the school to keep them apart. Kennedy and Mara are teased and taunted, but they find a way to continue the secret relationship from their closeted bisexual librarian, Ms. Platten. In the end, Kennedy and Mara will find a way to show their parents and everyone else that love is love, no matter how unusual. Just note that cover art is not mine
