The story focuses on the perspective of a young Australian girl, Lily, dealing with the intentional, unintentional and sometimes just perceived judgment on account of her race. I hope to engage readers to question what it means to be Australian, to challenge unnecessary stereotypes and encourage them to be more careful with seemingly innocent remarks that might stem from curiosity but could be interpreted as prejudice in a mutli-cultural context.

I wrote the story 'Drive' as a stand-alone, until someone suggested that the character of Alyssa could be interesting enough to further develop.
