If You Love Me
"If you love me, you won't leave me." Jessie has believed those words from her boyfriend, Josh, since senior year of high school. She loves him and doesn't want to leave him. Not even when he shouts at her and hits her. Jessie's best friend, Kolleen, can't stand seeing her in that situation. With a bit of convincing - and the worst beating she'd ever received - Jessie agrees to move into an apartment with Kolleen. But not long after, Jessie is scared the worst of her nightmares will soon become a reality. Josh goes missing, and suddenly Jessie would swear she's being followed. One night changes everything, and one person soon changes Jessie's outlook. A responding officer from that fateful night begins to seek her out, at first claiming it's part of his job. As she spends time with her new friend outside of his job, she starts realizing that her feelings are evolving. After being abused for over a year, Jessie is terrified she's falling in love. What's even more terrifying is that he might be, too. She isn't ready for love. Not yet. She makes up her mind that if he is falling, and if he does love her, he'll wait for her to be ready, and if she loves him, she won't let herself hurt him. Lost And Found (4 Shots) ✔️
"Lost Friends To Lovers" Dad told me real love happens once and when it does, never hide your feelings. Too bad, he told me late. I held them and lost her. Until I found her again. Blue-eyed, brown hair. That dimple on the right cheek, it hasn't changed much. Well, she hasn't changed much either. I can feel her body exuding the same warmth as the old times, her innocence still shining bright like it used to. This little surprise is racing my heart even when she is far from me...wait? Far? With her eyes busy finding something in her handbag, she is coming toward me. Me. Is my back erecting? What is she doing here? In a school? Is she my son's teacher? I find myself curious now. The Sound of Waves
Would you still choose to fall in love with the same person if you lost your memory? Love is not "if" or "because". Love is "anyway" and "even though" and " in spite of". So I will wait Till the waves let you kiss me by the shore, and let you hug me while the sand hugs our toes and the wind brushes our cheeks. Till you can finally say "I'm home." NAVEL GAZING: excessive absorption in self-analysis or focus on a single issue
-A Lie I decided to focus on family, choosing to believe-and have faith-that everything else would fall into place. I wasn't comfortable (or good) at lying to her. So, when Samantha surprised me one day by swallowing her pride and asking directly if anything had happened during our break, I hesitated. The silence, I believed, said it all. I was on the verge of confessing when she gave me my out: "If you tell me nothing happened, I'll believe you," she said. ------ I should have told her the truth then-or resolved never to reveal it. But I didn't. Instead, it surfaced years later, during the final unraveling of our marriage, when I was leaving for good. I selfishly brought it up, hoping to push her away. ------ But in that moment years earlier, I let her believe what she clearly wanted to hold on to-that I had been faithful. She knew Pippa, and probably sensed something had happened between us, but she let it go-and so did I. It was cowardice, I know. Still, I made up my mind to make our dream work. And for a while it did. We rebuilt, we dreamed again. Three more sons came into our lives, and with them, years of trying to hold it all together.
