Elsie Jones finds herself in a strange situation when she is forced to move from New York to Canada because of her mom going to live with her new boyfriend in England. Things are going great in Canada when she meets Dylan and she thinks she is starting to fall for him. However, she soon realises things aren't so simple when one of Dylan's best friends shows an interest in her and attempts to screw things up. Things go from bad to worse when Elsie's mother returns to take Elsie back to New York City, but Elsie doesn't want to leave.
