Then suddenly, the girl who just wanted serenity, is caught up in the thrill of the chase and addicted to the unpredictable nature of murder, especially when the bodies appearing look eerily similar to the people in her life. 

The game is afoot.  Sherlock is doubting his skills, John is drowning in confusion and Avery is being crushed under the secrecy: she knows who is behind it and she's closer to this case than she ever could have imagined.

Then his eyes landed on the photo and John's breath caught in his throat. His sharp cheekbones and impossible eyes were undeniably the ones of the breath-taking man he had bumped into on the street earlier.
