ੈ✩‧₊˚ Avery Watson never expected to meet Sherlock Holmes, let alone fall in love with him. ੈ✩‧₊˚

When Avery arrives in London, broken and reeling from her past, she's looking for a fresh start. She's staying with her brother to help her get back on her feet and just wants peace: something she's never known. Yet, when she meets Sherlock Holmes, the enigmatic and rude roommate of her brother, she's drawn to him, a strong connection she cannot ignore.

Then suddenly, the girl who just wanted serenity, is caught up in the thrill of the chase and addicted to the unpredictable nature of murder, especially when the bodies appearing look eerily similar to the people in her life.

The game is afoot. Sherlock is doubting his skills, John is drowning in confusion and Avery is being crushed under the secrecy: she knows who is behind it and she's closer to this case than she ever could have imagined.

Empty. Baker Street, and the entirety of the City of London, is empty. The streets are no longer busy with cars or pedestrians; it's deserted. Sherlock Holmes and John Watson are the only people around. But they're not alone. The Diseased---people who have caught a strange, rabid-like disease go into a state of madness in which they have the lust to kill anyone they come across---litter the streets. And John is one of them. When Sherlock comes from being in his Mind Palace for longer than he thought for a case he was solving, he finds out that a sudden apocalypse has taken over London, and a mysterious disease has plagued half the population, and they litter the streets. To his horror, John is somehow caught with the disease. The consulting detective finds himself on the most dangerous, and overwhelming case he has ever been on, one that will test his love for John. And that case is to find a cure for his best friend before he loses him to the strange, apocalyptic disease forever. And Sherlock is prepared to walk right through hell, if it means finding a cure for the one man he loves most in the world. ⚠️ ***TRIGGER WARNING*** ⚠️ This fanfic is rated M for a reason! "Detective Holmes, does your job ever cause you troubles that might lead to consuming drugs?" "I never have troubles with my job." Sherlock said, holding John's penetrating gaze without flinching. "Neither family issues, nor anything related with your job. Perhaps unrequited love, then?" *** Sherlock Holmes relies on many things to keep his supreme mind rational. Murder cases, for instance, provide him the adrenaline required to persist in sanity without falling into an abyss of dullness. Morphine serves as a tranquilizer for his untamable fact processing brain. Cocaine is a fine source of dopamine and fills in the hole of emptiness dug by the lack of intellectual crimes. To an outsider, he would fit labels like drug addict, sociopath, maniac, freak, but Sherlock thought he had attained a fairly satisfying equilibrium in life. But that was until he his brother stepped in, and John Watson became his therapist... And his flatmate. And a very alarming problem. ⚠️ Warning : mentions of drugs
