Micah's Gift
When I was a kid I always knew Christmas was coming when my dad brought out the Christmas Count-down Case. It had 25 compartments with doors, each holding a different ornament. We would open one door each night of December while we read the serialized Christmas story from the local newspaper. As part of the #justwriteit 30 day contest, I'm bringing back that tradition with a serialized story. Each day, right up to Christmas, I'll be adding a chapter of the story. "Micah's Gift" is told from the perspective of a 15 year old boy from a family touched by tragedy and challenge. Micah will do whatever it takes to make his three year old brother's Christmas wish come true. Because of the holiday involved, there are some Christian references but this is not a religious story.
