The concept for this short story came from the most unlikely of places: a meme of Chris Evans that I shared in a group text. I originally had two other prompts chosen, but as I started to flesh out the plot, this one really seemed to fit. I know that's kinda cheating, but I wrote this over a weekend and that's pretty amazing for me.
Also, I haven't worked in NYC in like 15 years so don't come at me if these subway descriptions are wrong.

"I didn't want a fight." I look down in my lap sadly, "That's one of the reasons why I didn't want to tell you." Chris walks over and sits next to me. He puts an arm around my body, pulling me closer to him. He kisses the top of my head. I feel like it's my fault. Small tears escape the corner of my eyes. "Stop it."
