Journey of Love

"I loved her so much," my brother cried over a girl, while Mama sat beside him, comforting him like he was a child again.
Leaning on the doorframe, I stared at them. My mouth twisted, and I rolled my eyes.
"How pathetic," I whispered as I walked back to my room.

Watching the people around me fall apart because of one thing-
It might sound bitter, but it's love.

I believe in love,
but not in loyalty,
not in faithfulness.
No matter how much two people love each other,
there will always be another woman.
We can't have everything perfect in this world.

"I'll never cry over a man," I told myself.
That was before I met him.
"Never" became "for the first time."
I even gained weight eating all the words I once said I'd never take back.

It felt better than adobo, sweeter than grahams, and more sour than sinigang.

You believe no one can tear you apart.
You think everything is finally falling into place.
You think you're meant to be-until you realize you're not.

Love demands a lot of emotions.
It fills your head with endless what-ifs,
forces you to make hard decisions,
brings unexpected arguments,
and adds stress you didn't even know you had.
