Flightless

I un-clip myself from the rope before silently opening the window and stepping into the dark room. The only sound in the room is my short sharp breaths. As I slowly walk to the bed I grab the knife from my thigh holster, before I halt my actions all together. The messy bed that was occupied by a large being just seconds before was now empty.

I feel him before I hear him, a tall warm body is pressed against my back as a large hand is wrapped around my throat tilting my face up. I gasp as I look up into two bright burning red eyes staring down at at me, as beautifully dark wings surround us.

"Now, would you like to tell what the hell a beautiful little thing like you is doing sneaking in my room?"
