This story takes place in the same universe as my 49th Floor Novels. In Book 1, Saving the CEO, our heroine Cassie spends a lot of time deflecting the attempts of Danny, her best friend, to get her to come to his mother's hobby farm for Christmas, where his hippie parent is undergoing a back-to-the-land themed midlife crisis. Of course, by the end of book 1, Cassie gets her happily-ever-after (because, hello, romance), and Danny is left to face Christmas alone in with his mom and her vegan soy yule loaf. So when a handsome neighbor dangles the prospect of a respite by the fire--complete with mashed potatoes--how can Danny resist? You don't have to have read Saving the CEO to read this story--it works perfectly fine as a standalone. And, conversely, there aren't any spoilers for Saving the CEO in it (except, of course, that it ends with a happily ever after, which, again: hello, romance). Colton White is the grumpy Alpha of the White Ridge Pack, and if there's one thing he hates more than rogue wolves, it's Christmas. While the rest of his pack indulges in the season's cheer, Colton can't stand the endless carols, twinkling lights, or forced smiles. He's content to brood his way through another miserable December-until a trip to the Happy Hearth Café turns his world upside down. Audrey Clarke is a whirlwind of holiday spirit. With her jingling bauble earrings, bright and merry sweaters, and a voice made for singing Christmas carols, she's the newest barista at the café-and a magnet for joy. But beneath her cheerful exterior lies a heart longing for connection and a home she's never truly had. The moment Colton steps into the café, her scent-a tantalizing mix of chocolate and Christmas pudding-hits him like a snowstorm. His wolf growls one word: Mate. But how is the grumpiest Alpha in the territory supposed to handle a mate obsessed with Christmas? When fate throws them together, Colton is forced to confront his past, his pack, and his growing desire for Audrey. Can her relentless optimism thaw the icy walls around his heart? Or will Colton's fear of losing the one thing he's been searching for his entire life keep them apart? In the midst of snowball fights, surprise dates, and an unconventional stint as a stand-in Santa Claus, this unlikely pair discovers that sometimes, the greatest gifts come wrapped in fate. Get ready for a heartwarming shifter romance filled with humor, holiday magic, and a love story that will make your wolf howl.
