This story takes place in the same universe as my 49th Floor Novels. In Book 1, Saving the CEO, our heroine Cassie spends a lot of time deflecting the attempts of Danny, her best friend, to get her to come to his mother's hobby farm for Christmas, where his hippie parent is undergoing a back-to-the-land themed midlife crisis. Of course, by the end of book 1, Cassie gets her happily-ever-after (because, hello, romance), and Danny is left to face Christmas alone in with his mom and her vegan soy yule loaf. So when a handsome neighbor dangles the prospect of a respite by the fire--complete with mashed potatoes--how can Danny resist? You don't have to have read Saving the CEO to read this story--it works perfectly fine as a standalone. And, conversely, there aren't any spoilers for Saving the CEO in it (except, of course, that it ends with a happily ever after, which, again: hello, romance).
