"تارنگاشت «۱۰ مهر» در تاریخ ۱۰ مهر ۱۴۰۰، نامه‌ای را که گویا در تیر ماه ۱۳۹۷ نوشته شده است زیر عنوان «نکاتی پیرامون نامه رفیق عمویی به رفیق خاوری درباره ضرورت وحدت توده‌ای‌ها» منتشر کرد.

در ارتباط با انتشار دیرهنگام و بیمورد این نامه توجه به چند نکته ضروری است:

۱- منطق کار و اخلاق سیاسی حکم می‌کند که این‌گونه نامه‌نگاری‌ها اگر قرار است نهایتاً خارج از حوزۀ تاریخ‌نگاری و مطالعات آرشیوی علنی و همگانی شوند، در زمان نگارش، و هنگامی که هم نویسنده و هم مخاطب، در قید حیات هستند منتشر شوند.
