Blood of the light

I think we can all agree that there are many monsters in our world. Monsters who abuse you, abuse children, monsters who kill by turning your inside into lava, and burn you alive. Monsters who kill by drinking your blood and breaking your bones. But after all, the worst of them are the monsters who lie. They seduce you, trap you, destroy you only with their words. They are stronger than the monsters with magic or unhuman power.
When Chloe Jones meets with Mark Windsor at the bar where she works, everything changes in her life. While he lifts her best friend into the clouds, Chloe needs to face some hard business. He brings into her life pain, war, challenge, joy, love... him. All Chloe can do is hope that lying monsters aren't that bad, as her mother said.
