Dean Winchester is driving home from work when he decides to drive through a different part of town that was promised by his friend to be a shortcut to his apartment complex. On his way there however, he overhears a faint screaming coming from an alleyway and decides to investigate. He is shocked to find a young man being held at gunpoint, begging his captor to not harm him.

Blood boiling, adrenaline rising, Dean bursts out of his car and charges toward the scene, saving the young man from what could have been a fatal incident.

As the days go on, the police try to investigate who the attacker was, and Castiel is asked to live with Dean until they are sure he is safe. Over this time, the two grow closer and closer together. But Castiel is having a hard time trusting this stranger, and at the same time cannot help but feel safest around him. And Dean, a flirt and now a hero does his best to make Castiel feel safe...even if he craves a different relationship with the young man.
