When her apartment is destroyed after creating an effigy of her ex-boyfriend, Jenny, an ambitious but disconnected young woman, is forced to spend Christmas with her estranged, free spirited sister, and her twelve cats. Agreeing to maintain a "holiday spirit" despite their differences, the two become reacquainted as they team up to tackle the holiday hustle and bustle.
