"It is," she continues, the perfect organism whose structural perfection is matched only by its hostility. Amazing Cover by ONYXVIXEN I remember the day they came. Our tiny uneventful town lit up with the sounds of gun fire and chaos. It was a massacre that seemed never ending. My family hid in our basement for days waiting for the sounds to end and it to be safe again. They said it was an invasion. That they came to exterminate us. But only a day after the fighting ceased and we were finally safe I found something on my way back from the market. Or rather, someone. A boy. Who became my best friend, until the day they found us and took him away. I was sure I'd never see him again Until one day I did. That was the day that changed everything.

I'm the crew's problem solver-the one they send on the hardest jobs. To them, I'm fearless, strong, unshakable. But the truth? I'm a coward, hiding secrets I pray no one ever uncovers. Everyone knows I'm terrified of the Zohra, the horned aliens that send chills down my spine. Yet, in a reckless moment, I agree to stay with the crew-near them. But my personal fears don't matter when a bigger threat emerges, one that could destroy everything. The mission takes us to my hometown, to a hidden lab filled with memories I swore I'd never face. And worse? I'm stuck infiltrating it with Harwal-a Zohra who reminds me of the monster that's haunted me for years. Surviving the mission is one thing. Surviving him-and the way he makes me feel-is another.

    Andromeda: The Last Descendants
Survival in space was our only option. The dying earth and its sickly inhabitants forced us to flee to the stars. My father, the commander of the elite group chosen to live amongst the stars, brought me along for the journey. And everything was going smoothly until I unexpectedly woke up on a new planet, one with an ethereal glow and an eerie resemblance to our old home as the commander of the military space force, my father tasked his men with exploring this new world. But what they discovered was far from welcoming. This new planet was already inhabited by terrifying creatures, and they were not happy with our presence. His men fought to survive against these beasts, I couldn't help but wonder why they were so hostile towards us. That's when one of them approached me, defying everything we had been warned about. Instead of attacking, it watched me pick flowers before later saving me from a fiery blast. Now it's my turn to save him. Please read the prologue in the beginning before going to Chapter 1. I know a lot of people skip Prologues, however, it has important information that will give you a better understanding of what's going on in other chapters. Feel free to comment and vote. I crash-landed on Io Station a few days later. I should have let them kill me. I was met with a horrifying scene as soon as I entered the colony. The dead walked. Not only did they walk - They killed. With a vengeance. An unheard-of aggression flowed through them. They infected others by the most painfully gruesome means you could imagine. And I was next on their list to consume and transform. *** Terrick is blown off course and into an asteroid by the UMC Forrest. His only hope of survival is to travel via an escape pod to Io Station. But what he finds there is a nightmare beyond all nightmares. A nightmare that is only the beginning.

My crew and I take the jobs we need to survive in a world overrun by aliens. We fly a stolen ship that once trafficked women-us included. Now, we make our own rules and do whatever it takes to stay free. My latest job? Rehabilitate a Zohra-a towering alien locked away in prison, meant to be tamed into usefulness for his captors. Then I meet him-my job, a mute Zohra. And that's when everything goes sideways. Rescuing him wasn't in the plan, yet now we're on the run, supposedly relying on each other... except I'm the one doing all the work. He's frustrating. Completely useless. A liability, really. And yet, for some ridiculous reason, I just can't leave him behind.

A flash of light, a hiss of static, and a city of 50,000 became a ghost town in an instant. The area was cordoned off, eye witnesses were taken away in black helicopters, never to be seen again, and officially, the city no longer exists. The only people left inside the cordon are Curi, Crypto, and Tech, three members of an expedition into the Zone who can't remember who sent them, why they're exploring the Zone, or even their real names. The only thing they can remember is they are tracking a radio signal coming from the center of the Zone. A signal that can't possibly be human. But the Zone isn't ready to give up all of its secrets. And it is more dangerous than any of them realize. [A story for the Literary Lounge Gen 3 Contest]
