This is my first take on writing a book, so bare with me! :) I am open to feedback and questions.
Synopsis:
My name is Aubree Campbell. I am going to tell you the story of my not so extraordinary, kinda lame, really awkward, and very weird high school experience. Sounds interesting, right? All my life I have been sheltered in a tiny Christian school, where everyday we are expected to please everybody. I already spent 8 years of my life there, no way was I going to spend 4 more years there in a high school that contains less than 30 students; I wanted to take a challenge. And decided that if I wanted that, I needed to broaden my horizons. That change: attending private high school. The high school I chose to attend had very high recommendations. Very smart kids went there, and they used all sorts of cool technology. In other words, it’s a nerd school. Most people think it’s ironic since I’m Asian. But I will prove to you, my friend, it is not so easy to live up to that stereotype. As I was saying… Even though it’s not like your local head honcho public school, it still has its fare share of psychos, jocks, BB’s (blond bitches), stoners, and others. Like me: the weirdos. You will get to hear all about my fantabulous experiences. Like friendship drama, boys (of course), grades (ugh), family stuff, growing pimples, mood swings, awkward encounters, and struggling to find yourself.
Alright, enough of the b.s. Let’s get started.
Ella is falling apart trying to live a "perfect" high school life. Then she meets Ren, who can see past her scars. Suddenly perfection isn't her only option.
*****
Ella Volkov is a gifted music student, but she's depressed and starting to crack under the pressure of high school. Her overbearing father won't even let her choose what instrument she plays. Then she finds herself alone at a party with Ren, her best friend's crush. She'd always thought he was rude, but after that night he's all Ella can think about. Now she's trapped. If Ella dates Ren, it will ruin her friendship with Jenny. But if she stays true to Jenny, she's losing the one person who can see past her scars. It's up to Ella to decide if she will forge her own path, or stay in the "perfect" box designed for her...
