When their father is being held captive by the FBI, Annabelle and Max's bright world is torn in half and replaced with a dark one.

Annabelle, being the oldest needs to take care of herself and her younger brother now with new challenges lying in front of them, such as running away from foster parents and outsmarting the police. But can she do all of this alone?

Max feels helpless as he watches his older sister give her all to protect the both of them and he wants to help but Annabelle will not hear of such thing. To prove himself to Annabelle by going on his own mental mission to find the reasons behind their mother's death and their father's sudden arrest.
