What if Tobias wasn't Marcus' only child? What if when Tobias moved to dauntless he reluctantly left behind his sister.
Well her name is Meredith Eaton. She is a sarcastic, bubbly, curious girl. And she doesn't fit into Abnegation even though to those on the outside she seems like the perfect Abnegation, but once she is behind closed walls she is the farthest thing from an Abnegation girl. Finally at the age 16 she is ready to leave Abnegation. To leave the place she never belonged and the Abusive father that never loved her. she is ready to be free.
The question is, what faction will she chose? will she fallow her brother to Dauntless?
And what happens when a certain leader captures her heart.
Will he be able to get her to open up to him after all these years of hating men and being closed off?
(there is no war, this takes place a year after tris' year. They are looking for divergents and they will kill them if they find them. But they aren't planning a war to wipe out everything)

AN: I will be trying to follow the books in regards to time line events however I will be using scenes or character descriptions from the movies as well. ~ Adding a new twist to the infamous series Divergent by Veronica Roth ~ When Evelyn Johnson, mother of Tobias Eaton and wife of Marcus Eaton, fakes her death in order to escape the domestic abuse of her husband, she flees to the Factionless in hopes to find a haven. She's met with uncertainty and a certain guardedness from the very people she used to support by providing goods and food. Up until she reveals a secret that changes - and will change - everything: she's pregnant. She asks the Factionless for their help and they oblige out of sympathy once she recounts the trauma she went through. Astrid Johnson grows happily among the Factionless - she makes friends and feels included in the community, but her existence remains unknown of her father Marcus and her brother Tobias. Evelyn tells her their story and trains her from the earliest age to run, climb, fight, and also jump on and off moving trains. She raises Astrid with the idea that at age 16, she will join Dauntless and secretly look out for Tobias, whom Evelyn mostly lost sight of. Evelyn sees it as the only way to reconnect with her long-lost son, wishing he would join the boiling revolution among the Factionless. Except that obviously, things don't always go to plan. And infiltering the Dauntless under a false identity while under the terrifying scrutiny of Dauntless leaders is a near-suicide mission. ⚠️ TW: dark themes, such as domestic abuse, bullying, suicide, abusive authority figures, violence, drugs, sexual encounters... but highly graphic scenes are kept to a bare minimum to respect the tone of the original series ⚠️
