This book is an AU of an old RP I did with a friend, well not really an old RP it started somewhere in 2020, so like- last year.
Anyways, in the main roleplay Issac actually gets his hanahaki cured. Recently I got the song "Secret Garden" (A Fan-Made FlowerFell song) stuck in my head, and the line "you're too late, i'm afraid, this flower's already dead" made me think of an AU where Issac dies and *possibly* joins Devon as a ghost
Edit: I'm going to write the original story(to the best of my ability if i can remember it correctly) and have the AU ending as a special chapter

Hanahaki is a disease where the affected coughs up the favorite flowers of the one they love, left untreated it can kill in a matter of weeks, you can get a surgery to remove the root, however you will forget everything about your loved one, or never feel love again. More commonly people let it kill them, but this can be avoided by confessing, however if you get rejected, the condition will progress faster and surgery will no longer be an option. The cough will start with a few petals, then progress to the entire flower head, after that a bit of blood, and finally, the entire flower with the stem and blood. If it gets to that point, you likely have days to live. The condition progresses faster or slower depending on how long the love has existed and how strong it is. Some of the warning signs for the disease are high unexplainable fevers along with harsh coughing fits and trouble breathing, these symptoms only occur for the worst cases however, so not everyone will have warning signs. "Great" Asahi sighed with his head in his hands. "Just what I needed." When Asahi gets sick and doesn't recover it's up to him and a few others to figure out what to do before it's too late, only, he has a secret he doesn't want them to know. Some say secrets can kill, but this time it's far too real. (Disclaimer!!!
