(I ACCIDENTALLY DELETED THE ORIGINAL PLEASE GIVE THIS ANOTHER READ AND VOTES IF YOU ENJOYED IT!!!)

I see two lovers staring over the edge of the cauldron of hell. Do they both wish for death? That means their love will end in hell. I couldn't stop laughing.

What happens when you die but keep living? What happens when the heart keeps beating but the soul has moved on and so has everyone else? That's the kind of thing a ghost might say, and Aristos knows that feeling all too well. That is, until Aristos meets another ghost who helps him follow his silver cord.

A quick few things I want to say before reading the story. This is my first time since elementary school writing anything even remotely fantasy/supernatural. This story has been in the works since probably about 2014, though it's been heavily rewritten over and over again (it started as a danisnotonfire fic LMAO DON'T @ ME). This version has been worked on since about late 2017. I drew a lot of inspiration from real-world mythology and folk tales, as well as pop culture references (so let me know if you notice any references it'll be fun!). It took a lot of time and research to write this and I put a lot of effort into it so please let me know how I'm doing and what you think of it!

Kylie survived the brutal destruction of her pack only to discover her cold alpha mate was the one responsible for the brutal slaughter of her family and pack mates. She can't forgive and she won't forget. Kylie cooperates with his demands while she searches for a way to free the remaining survivors and herself. Success teaches her just how complicated mate bonds can be and gives her the chance to choose her own fate. "Screw the mate bond. If I went for his throat while he was driving in human form, I might be able to kill him right now, and if I didn't succeed, the resulting accident might. I leapt for the front seat, powerful jaw ready to rip out his throat as he had ripped out my family's to take my revenge. Without even taking his left hand off the wheel, he blocked me by getting his right forearm between my jaws. I bit down as hard as I could, wishing to break his bones and sever the limb. Worse, I felt the tingles of our first contact where violence had connected us. The iron of his blood mingled with the other scents around me." (This is a dark story, but not the stereotypical one where she falls in love with her captor. This is the story of escape from a toxic relationship and finding healthy love.) MATURE content including violence, dubious consent, intimacy, and mature and other possibility upsetting themes like threats of suicide and miscarriage. Not intended for the 18- crowd, sorry. #1 in Protective (10/23/21, 02/02/22) #1 in Pack (10/24/21)

CRINGE WARNING! First book I ever wrote on here!! -- "Sometimes the person who you are willing to take a bullet for is the person behind the gun." I stood peering over the cold lifeless body that lay before my eyes. I had always thought of death the enemy, but right now, I blessed it upon the person who is now at peace. Sometimes you don't need to be the smartest, or the fastest, but you do need to be wisest. They say the blood runs deeper than water, and I believe it, because even though the people that we love can turn on us and begin to hate us, they are only human, meaning that soon they will begin to see how short life really is and how it is not to be wasted. People who seem perfect and they look like they have no floors'; they are the people who are suffering, like I was. But I found my savior in the most uncommon place. He was able to look through my mask, he saw the cracks, and tried to fix the broken girl that hid away deep inside the girl who only wanted to be seen as 'fine'. I slowly began to find comfort and safety in him, and I did the same to him. We were two broken people becoming whole. Someone once said when you pass, if you can count your true friends on one hand you are beyond lucky, and I even though I did not like the person that lay before me, I know that he once had true friends, including me. I'm a 17 year old girl who has suffered more than any other, beginning to believe that 'Hope' was just another word the people throw around. Until I fell in love with a badboy. I can't afford to have her blood on my hands." Gwen looked away, and he knew she saw the image that flashed in his mind. The slaughter. Bodies everywhere. The putrid stench of decay and metallic blood seeping through his fingers and staining the earth under his feet. The small, lifeless body in his hands whose death he couldn't prevent. There are worse things than death. ___ "What is wrong with you?" I seethed. She had my back against the wall, pinning me down so I couldn't move. She was much stronger than me, even when I used my strength to get out of her embrace. I held her gaze and I knew that she was gone. There wasn't an ounce of goodness left in her body. She laughed at my question. Of course, I knew what was wrong with her. But I have to find a way to get her back. "What is wrong with me? Ha, nothing sweetheart." she told me with a smile on her face. "I'm just having a little fun." "Yeah, and fun for you is killing innocents," I growled. "Oh, I hate to say this to you but they aren't all innocent." I finally broke free of her and I dropped her to the floor. I held her down with both arms while I was on top of her. All she did was give me a smile. An eerie smile that made a shiver run down my spine. "I should kill you for what you've done," I whispered. "I should make you pay." "Oh, but Sebastian, you won't," she said. "You know why? Because at the end of the day I'm still me, and you will never hurt me, will you?" I hated that she was right. I couldn't kill her. My mind told me that it would be the best to do it but my heart told me otherwise. I mentally cursed at myself for letting this happen to her. "Elora, I know you're still in there." I said. She was still on the ground, but she was not resisting which seemed odd. "She died a long time ago," she said finally. "Alongside her love for you." ___ Book Two in the "From Death to Life" Trilogy #13 in Bloodlust

The Ordinary Dead

19 parts Complete

I finished this story in nanowrimo, 2015, and I haven't looked back since. Sorry to the one person (maybe?) who may have been holding up hope for a sequel or an edit No, you aren't getting one. ----- "Of course I don't. I'm just stating the obvious." He stood up from the stool and flicked his eyes over his shoulder, to look at Ciara. "I could, a) Break through the window," He pointed behind him, towards the massive window behind the bar. "b) I could run away," He paused again for a moment, weighing up the options. "Or finally, c) I could help the pretty girl in the story get away from the thug." Brendan scoffed mockingly once again. "And which option would you choose, ballet boy?" "Well," he turned his head to wink at Ciara. "Who can't resist saving a damsel in distress?" ----- Kyran is a Demon. Born and bred in the depths of Edom, a dimension of hell, his father granted him a job - to kill the Ordinary Dead. It just so happens that his first assignment is Ciara Hunter, a beautiful girl Kyran could not dare to assassinate. What happens when a reaper finds they cannot summon the ability to kill? ----- I feel like writing this terrible novel was the low point in my life. Read if you must. It's only still up here because of the amount of reads I have.
