Luke was just eleven when he boarded the gigantic exploration starship, Fusion, with his family. His scientist parents had trained for over half a decade to be a part of this, the biggest, boldest space mission in Human History.
The Fusion was supposed to be their home for the next nine years, its mission, to cross the galaxy and investigate the possibility we may have some friendly space neighbours.
What nobody realised, however, was the kind of neighbourhood it was...

In order to embark on a mission to discover alien life on the icy moon of Jupiter Maria must leave her life on Earth behind, including her father and her seven-year-old son Diego. She thought the hardest part of the mission would be saying goodbye, but little does she know what awaits her and her crew on Europa, an environment that has never been explored from the surface until this mission. The year is 4343 and ten-year-old Maximus James is off on an intergalactic trip with his family. With him, Maximus holds close a copy of his favorite book: "The History of the Universe", a nearly infinite source of information (and also his textbook). However, when the family vacation goes awry, forcing Maximus and his family to land on an unknown planet, they make a discovery they never knew existed. AUTHOR'S NOTE This is the full novella in its entirety, free to read. I wrote this back when I was in high school and self-published. It's not a bestseller by any means and my writing and perspective has strengthened exponentially since its initial release. Ricardo De Léon always dreamed of exploring the cosmos. Growing up in the outer colonies, he wanted nothing more than to take to the stars and see the universe for himself. After having made a decent living doing small scouting and exploration jobs, he and his crew felt they were ready for something more. Deep Star Engines, an old interstellar conglomerate and ship manufacturer, seemingly disappeared off the face of the universe. Suddenly going bankrupt amidst their most successful years, no explanation was given as to their dissolution. The only prominent echoes Ricardo and his team found were records of a massive discovery made somewhere past the inhabited systems.
