Could you always win with the hand you're dealt?
Joseph Sakamoto, a 23 year-old psychiatry student moves into his first house with his best childhood friend, Leon Kazukama, a friendly, but overly clumsy and bumbling individual. When they find what seems to be a completely normal deck of Tarot cards... all hell breaks loose. When the cards are dealt at a housewarming party for the new homeowners, them as well as five of their closest friends are met with the unfathomable... developing strange new abilities.
Are these abilities a blessing...? Or could they be a curse...? Joseph and his friends work together to solve the mystery behind the strange deck of Tarot cards, all the while engaging in vigilantism by forming their own superhero team:

We were a whole group of friends. And yet, I was feeling so lonely. It was hard to trust the others knowing that one of the players of this deadly game of cards would do anything to kill us... With all the revelations, treasons, and breath-taking clever strategies, would I be up to the task? Warning: this fiction is a thriller, but still contains two/three scenes that may be offensive to young audience. No worries, I will add a warning just before each passage involved. Inspirations: I was highly inspired by the French game The Werewolves of Millers Hollow, itself based on the game Mafia. I also had the idea for this novel while listening to the song "Lily" by Alan Walker (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kTJbE3sfvlI). To finish, my friends can feel some Danganronpa and La Casa de Papel vibes in the story. I therefore invite all these two series' lovers to read it! Long ago, 4 gods ruled over humanity since their beginning, but after growing bored, they decided to play a game with humanity. Dividing their power into 52 cards that give humans a part of their power, the gods then disappeared leaving behind a prophecy that said one card wielder would rule over them. The rest of humanity then began hunting down the 52 card users with extreme violence, but since a card would randomly pass to another person in the world, they began imprisoning them. Years past, now in modern-day, a boy hurt and scared because of the hunt for the card wielders, blames the gods and so the Devil bestowed upon him their card.
