He was just plainly sitting in the garden like any other day, one of his ears ringing from the unnecessarily loud hearing aid, and the other listening to morning doves.
Yup, just a normal, quiet, ordinary day. He could hear distant giggling from his left ear and turned around to be met with the face of his brother. Honestly what could possibly go wrong with this day? Everything was so perfect, he was in the garden with his little brother, the birds were singing to their happiness, the smell of fire and blood filling their senses.
