Ella Jean Wood has been staying with her older brother Christopher (or Woody which she calls him) and his fiance Chrissy for a year. Their parents passed away recently and she had nowhere else to go. Now that the depression is effecting more and more people, she doesn't want to burden her brother with the extra costs of her staying in their home. As she tries to wiggle her way into her own life, she crosses paths with a man who has fought against her brother in the boxing ring many times along with many quarrels afterwards. and finds herself caught under his endearing charm.
