sequel to: last man standing

After a hectic year in which Marylinde had gone from a formula two rookie with Prema, to a reserve driver, to a free practice driver, to a driver with a formula one race under her belt, to podium finisher in formula one and finally, to Pierre's successor in Alpha Tauri for the next year.

She finally got what she wanted: that longed for formula one seat that people all around the world were after, but only twenty per year could obtain. She had fulfilled her lifelong dream.

And on top of everything else, she had found someone who helped her through all her mental difficulties and whatever not. Pierre was there for her at all times. she could call him in the middle of the night and he would be with her as soon as he humanly could.

But he made the move back up to Red Bull, meaning that despite Marylinde was staying in Italy, he was moving to England to be close to the factory. The distance is undoubtedly going to be hard on their relationship but the two found comfort in the fact they would see each other often enough at work and were very willing to get on a plane to the other country. They were dead set upon making things work.

But things don't turn out to be as easy as the couple had hoped and Pierre and Marylinde have to fight for their relationship as well as for their places in formula one. They can't help but start to wonder: will their relationship come to a halt? Will they still be standing in the end?

❝They call him the Dutch Lion.❞ ❝Yeah? To be honest, I think he's more like Scar from The Lion King, but whatever.❞ In the high-pressure world of Formula 1, Red Bull Racing is crumbling. Half the team has quit, morale is at an all-time low, and Max Verstappen-the reigning champion-is battling not just a losing season but a mountain of frustration, anger, and self-hatred. Known for his icy demeanor and explosive temper, Max feels more isolated than ever, unwilling to accept the changes around him. The last thing he wants is a new Personal Assistant. Enter Emilia "Emmy" Jones, a vibrant redhead who seems to radiate sunshine wherever she goes. She's everything Max despises in this moment of chaos-optimistic, talkative, and insufferably cheerful. To Max, she's a storm he didn't see coming, and no amount of biting sarcasm or coldness can drive her away. Emmy is determined to do her job, even if it means braving the tempest that is Max Verstappen. What Max doesn't realize is that Emmy isn't just some cheerful distraction. Beneath her bright smiles and playful energy, she's hiding her own storm. She's not the unshakable beam of positivity he assumes-she's a force of nature battling scars of her own. And while Max can't stand her constant happiness at first, it doesn't take long for him to see that Emmy isn't just sunshine. She's a hurricane-wild, fierce, and unpredictable. And she might just be what Red Bull, and Max, need to survive. Because sometimes, it's the storms that reshape everything.
