The year is 1947, two years after World War 2. Almost 17 year-old John J. Thomas is currently living with his uncle and mother. Them being poor and living in an apartment that can barely stay intact, John decided to work three part-time jobs to help fund for the rent. After earning 10 dollars instead of 10 cents from a single portrait sale, his customer suggested he works for a cartoon making company named 'Joey Drew Studios' due to how well he can sketch and paint.
