"You know, I've seen the way you look at me. Why?" His voice was just the same as his laugh, laced with that sweet, sweet poison that drew me in. "In all honesty, I'm not quite sure myself. But what I do know is that ever since the first day I saw you sat here, I've felt safe. Almost as though you saved me." I was still looking into his eyes, and I saw how his cheeks blushed, not a lot but it made me smile. "From what?" he asked. "Myself..." --------------------------------- Oh how I could spend hours in there as long as he was there, just letting the smell of freshly ground coffee beans hang in the air while my eyes were focused on this boy. --------------------------------- there's this boy in the café who has silently saved Arson. One day he gains the courage to inform this boy in the café of what he's done.

It only took one summer to change everything. Now Camden is just trying his best to carry on with life like normal, but that's a little tricky when his memories keep haunting and some nights are so bad that sleep evades him completely. He can't even imagine how much worse it would have been if Mateo hadn't been there. But that was the summer before and Mateo's been gone for the whole year since. What happens when Mateo comes home, and how will Cam ever face him again? ___ 'He looked mostly the same as last summer, older maybe, definitely more tanned. He'd grown his hair out a little longer, so it hung lower in his eyes now. I'd seen him post a picture with his hair like that a few months ago and decided to grow mine out too. I wonder when he looked at me, did he see me as I am now, or did he see me as I was then, that night?' ___ TW: sexual assault
