" Merka heard a thud and now the yellow tube had little gray legs that attached it to the floor."

"Again he heard a clicking"

Merka and his pod had just parted from the red kelp at first dawn when the 'sky' above them seemed to have cracked. Wary he and his mother hide as a new species seemed to have appeared from the rift in the 'sky'. A species that unknowingly brought a dangerous foe hidden amongst them.

(The story was rather short so I just stretched it out so that it wouldn't just be 2-3 chapters)
