People make mistakes.

Arden Ame's mistake was that she fell in love with this boy called Liam Moore, who had a charming, crooked smile and a voice that dripped with honey. This boy was uncaring, rash, terribly good looking and drew attention effortlessly like a moth to flame. He had a habit of tying up his hoodie strings, which Arden found completely adorable, because oh gods she was bewitched.

This boy was popular enough to get away shattering her life into complete shambles. To break her heart clean into two and let her go, because this girl was sensitive and kind and just about everything he wasn't, and she was never meant to mean anything to him.

He let her go, and maybe that was this boy's mistake.

Book 1 of the "Used to Be" Series Scarlett Fisher: the school's resident mean girl. Beautiful, smart (but doesn't let people know), charismatic, confident (or at least that's what everyone thinks.) The truth is, she's scared, Scared that one day people will see past her smile and charm, and see the person she really is on the inside. Scared that someone will remember who she used to be. ~•~ Now I know I seem like a bitch, and your probably thinking I'm your stereotypical mean girl, but I wasn't always like this, back when high school first started. After the incident I decided to stop going by my first name, I had also learned that being mean, and not taking anything form anyone was the only way to get people to treat you with respect. ~•~ Arora Fisher: the girl most people didn't notice until they needed help with homework, the girl who was voted most likely to disappear and no one would notice. The girl who her believed in the good in others, who wanted to just give people a chance, no matter how many red flags. The girl who was lost to tragedy. ~•~ "We'll be broken together." He try's to smile, but he can't manage it and I nod, knowing how much pain he feels. "We'll be broken together." I whisper, after that we sit there, in an empty silence, neither of us wanting to be the first one to speak again, because it feels off, like the sound of our own voices might somehow break our hearts more.

She was his first love. The girl who knew his laughter, his dreams, his fears. The one he swore he'd never let go of. Until one day, he did. Without warning. Without goodbye. He was her everything. Her first kiss. Her first heartbreak. The boy who carried her heart in his hands- and then shattered it when he disappeared. Years passed. Wounds turned into scars. She learned to live with the silence he left behind. He learned to live with the regret of leaving her. Now, fate has thrown Mason and Ella together again- in the most unexpected place, on the most ordinary day. But nothing about seeing each other feels ordinary. It feels like the past rushing back. It feels like the pieces of a love story trying to fit again. But can she trust him after the way he left? And can he prove that this time, he's here to stay? Because sometimes love doesn't end. Sometimes, it waits.
