The Reapers are excited, the world is on the brink of nuclear war. If it happens, they'll have billions of souls to collect. However with significantly less humans, most reapers will disappear as they won't be needed. But they don't care, all that matters is the job. Death is absolute! However Thanatos doesn't think this extremist goal is good. There needs to be both life and death. So he did the unthinkable, he saved people.
