The true story behind the Sword of Tirale is not as pretty and simple as the tales make out. With dark secrets, twisted minds and heartbreaking decisions, the true tale is far from beautiful, and definitely not a bedtime story for children.

Illair Yvonne is the sole King of Tirale. With no heirs, his family's long reign could end with one blow of a sword. In a war, that's not the best situation to be in.
Hawthorn Yale is from the Court of Coul. With a secret that his world would never approve of, he treads thin ice. Tough decisions tear him to shreds, as he is forced to choose between two impossible things.
Amias Fourzen is the son of a Coulian Lord. Him being on the opposite side of the war puts him in quite a precarious situation.
And finally, Elian Tire is a citizen of Cherin, Tirale. Or rather, she was. She left home at 14, always wanting something more from life. Just before her 16th birthday, she gets that something more. The only problem is it's a 'little bit' too much for her to handle.
These four all struggle through different issues, in the same world but miles apart, both figuratively and literally. When events force them into situations in which they must depend on one another, will they be able to finish what others started? What will become of this ragged group, with nothing in common except a war to end?
