Mona Sinclair runs from her hometown after a devastating end to her relationship with her younger sister Janie. She spends the next 20 years hiding from the pain of her past by living in Memphis and pouring her life into teaching high school science.

When Sloane who's wild and rebellious just like Janie, shows up in her classroom, Mona cant help herself. She has to intervene and try to help her student avoid the same lifestyle her younger sister Janie fell into.

Tension between Mona & Sloane arises and leads to further tension with Sloane's abusive father. Tragedy strikes again when Sloane disappears and all the memories Mona spent years avoiding consume her like a tidal wave.

Will Mona find Sloane? Will she be able to rescue her before her own guilt eats her alive? Only time will tell if Mona will find her and be able to see the truth that's always been within her eyes.
