Gumball's lifestyle is passively aggressive as he's happily striving to fit in with the joy in Elmore so he won't have to face anything terrible from it. He has a sarcastic but kindhearted girlfriend, a poor but dysfunctional family, and a weirdly corrupted school of students and teachers that either love to bully him or just treat him like trash for how troublesome he is. It's the normal typical lifestyle an early teen lives in junior high school. But that's really not the case here.
The relationship is not that perfect for Gumball and Penny, but it's still stable. The only problem here is that there's a big question that hasn't been answered yet... Does Penny really know Gumball very well? Even his past experiences? Turns out Gumball has held a deep dark secret from Penny for a long time and it is the roots of his behavior after all.
