I never believed it to be possible.

I never thought that one day... I would get to play on the United States Men's National Team.

Me... a girl.

Playing in a historically male-dominated sport.

Amongst the best of the best.

Against the wonder creations of God himself.

For the country I love so dear.

How did we get here?

...

Eighteen year-old Melanie Kavitz was a senior at Franklin High School in Seattle, Washington, playing for the all-male football team. Although she had the love and support of her teammates, her parents and her coach, the rest of the city hadn't been so welcoming of her meddling with their sons; an out-of-place princess who should've been on a cheerleading squad instead.

The lack of solidarity within the community never bothered Kavitz, or anybody else in her life - especially not when she was clear of being the best in the city. Maybe in all of Washington as well. Her talent was unmatched; she was unstoppable with the ball, and she left all those in her way in the ground.

A talent of her stature doesn't come every now and then - it's a rarity.

And the coach of the US Men's National Team knew that.

Two athletes, one bet, and the most significant loss of all-two words. Meet her: Sofia Delezar, captain of UFN's soccer team. Sarcastic, hard-headed, and tired of the lack of media and respect the female athletes at UFN are receiving. Enter him: Stephan Westerman, star player of UFN's football team, careless, big flirt, and so happens to be UFN's golden boy with all the attention in the world. However, struggles to maintain a picture-perfect reputation. The agreement: In the span of four months, Stephan takes on the task of giving Sofia's soccer team the recognition they deserve. In return, Sofia "dates" Stephan in order to shake off his playboy reputation and mend his relationship with his parents. +++ "Don't go falling in love with me, Delezar," his words lace with sarcasm. "Yeah, 'cause you're such a catch?" My brow cocks upward. "Wanna bet?" he shrugs, a taunting glint in his brown eyes. "An easy win," I retort, crossing my arms over my chest. "A competition," he declares, leaning back in his chair, his smug expression riling me up. "If, over these four months, someone-" "You," I interject. "Right... If it so happens that one of us, specifically you, catches feelings during our little 'relationship,' you lose," he explains, as though it's the simplest concept in the world. "And what does the winner get?" "You get to break the other person's heart," he says matter-of-factly. "Plus..." "You win." --- Best overall ranks: #1 sports #1 athlete #2 diabetes #3 college stories #4 hefallsfirst #4 college romance

When Lorena planned how her years in university would go, she didn't expect to have to deal with an ex that won't leave her alone. The ex her parents adored. She also didn't expect university would be where she met a football player or that they'd become friends. Fermín didn't expect any of those things either but soon found himself in the middle of something he didn't fully understand. But he knew one thing, he wanted to help Lorena. And it turned out the only way he could think of helping her was by doing something he thought only happened in movies or books. But now, it was happening to them too. New chapters on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. And a little reminder, because of some comments I got lately, that I don't write smut. But hopefully you can still enjoy the story ❤️
