Magicians hide within present day society and hold this war once every 7 years. 7 Magi summon servants that are the souls of legendary heros/villians to fight in the war. The servants are divided into 7 categories based off what they did in life. Saber, Rider, Lancer, Caster, Assassin,Beserker, and finally Archer. The Servants all have a mind of thier own as well and a wish to be granted by the holy grail but only one Master and Servant can have thier wishs granted by the Holy Grail.

The war for the seven cards class has been loosened, and Shirou is seen wrapped in her of accidental form, allied with Rin to go out alive. During the course of the war, the two of them will go through many disappointments, holding one another to avoid falling, giving themselves over to a sincere love. The War of the Holy Grail is now transformed into a class struggle: that of the 7 heroic spirits.
