Macy is a 17-year-old daughter of two famous chefs in the Hudson Valley, NY, having grown up on the farm that also houses their famous restaurant. Her moms want her to go to college and be anything but a chef - or to at least experience life and get some life skills before she decides to be one thing forever. Macy just wants to work in a kitchen. She's a great chef, and intends to prove it to them.

Her best friend, Darby, arranges for a meeting between Macy and Hayden Warner, a famous restauranteur. She has just one night in Manhattan to cook for him. Or soMa she thinks.
