Present day - The UK's security services are suddenly caught totally unaware by a bomb explosion that rocks the very heart of London's transport infrastructure.
The British Government is forced to put into effect a major disaster plan in order to apprehend an anonymous, dedicated, deadly terrorist who gives warning that he intends to launch a major CBRN attack on the nation's capital.
COBRA - the UK Government's emergency response team is called-up to oversee the hunt to apprehend the terrorist. Led by a new, inexperienced Home Secretary, COBRA appoint Matt Bateman, an MI5 Intelligence Case Officer and Tim Daltry, a Detective Chief Inspector with the British Transport Police, to jointly head-up, what must effectively be a totally secretive manhunt.
Overnight, the two become the two most powerful law enforcement officers in the land, given carte blanche to utilise the entire UK security services.
It is a race against time. If The Engineer's main device is detonated, it will potentially reduce The City of London to rubble, but worse still, the results of the biological agent that might be released will bring almost instantaneous death to millions of Londoners and its visitors.
