The kingdom of Alvador has a sacred tradition that each prince needs to choose a queen to be crowned king. He has to marry from one of the five noble houses who have been birthing queens for as long as time can remember. A grand ball is held whenever a new king will be crowned. That is where the prince always announces the bride of his choosing and whomever he chooses is final.

Prince Zen chooses the one female who had no interest in the crown whatsoever because he didn't want a wife or queen. He simply just needed to make the people think that and his parents. He chose Desrae Vanwild because she had no shred of love or lust for him.

He does not want to be loved or love or so he thought. Over time he slowly began to fall for that same girl who didn't love him. She also developed feelings but only when he was cold towards her. The more he wanted her, the less she wanted him. And the less she wanted him, the more he wanted her.
