Alvara Alexandria Fray/Fairchild is the older sister of Clarissa Adele Fairchild (or also known as Clary Fray in the mundane world) and younger twin of Jonathan Morgenstern.  Despite Alvara having the demon and angel blood (and is probably dangerous), her mother (Jocelyn Fairchild) told her about the Shadow World before Clary knew about it.
