Rose and her friends' adventures in the VA series have been trying, but there is no escaping the fact that war is coming. The Strigoi are rapidly increasing in numbers, and no battle can be waged with them unless the Moroi finally decide to use their magic for the greater good. The vampires at the Royal Court don't stand alone, however, because back-up is coming from far away places in the form of a spirit-using royal Moroi and his shadow-kissed guardian...
The story alternates between Rose's and our new shadow-kissed guardian's perspectives.
