"Cadis Etrama di Raizel, you're the most contemptible prince in existence. I've never met someone as selfish, and intemperate as you. Truly nothing like your brother."
As the fourth son of the Emperor of Laindros, who was a powerful being in his own right, Rai had always been an individual to be revered. Being the youngest of four brothers, his father and mother spared no expense in spoiling him, despite knowing the harm it could bring him in the future. Rai was a pompous youth, never having to ask twice for whatever he may want, whether it be something he should need or not.
That was until his crush Valen Wright, a cold and emotionless commoner whom attended the noble Meridian academy due to possessing rare light magic, broke his heart by speaking such cruel words. They were by no means false but nonetheless, for a boy who had never once been rejected in such a manner, it was a harsh slap to the face.
And so started a gradual journey of self reflection as Rai tried his hardest to figure out what he had done wrong. It wasn't all that difficult though, with many, many volunteers to 'kindly' enlighten him. From then onwards, Rai truly wondered how to continue his academy life, with how much he'd begun to question his own actions from both past and present. All he knew was that he wanted his crush to see him as a changing person, someone who wanted to be worthy of receiving the affections of people other than his adoring parents.

Warning: this story may be very cliche and similar to other such stories of this genre, but I want it to be that way. It's a refreshing change from trying to be super original, my brain is tired. Otherwise, characters, places and events will still be from my imagination so it's not like totally copying other books. Only exception may be Rai's name, which is from a character in a webtoon called Noblesse(I love you Rai, you hot elegant vampire daddy^^)
