Orphans aren't born orphans. Thieves aren't born thieves. However, once you start, you almost never go back. [Y/N] knows this. But that doesn't stop them from needing a massive amount of help in order to get their life back on track.
A standard irl dsmp x reader story. It does take place in a super power au though, so there's that. The characters will be mostly SBI (since I'm biased and like them the most), but there will be some other character involvement in some chapters. I'm keeping the reader gender neutral with they/them pronouns, but feel free to substitute these with your own as you read.
New chapters are posted every Wednesday and weekend (in my timezone of course, sorry if it doesn't match up with yours). These chapters average between 2,000 and 4,000 words (10-20 minute reads) with some exceptions. Before every chapter there will be a list of possible trigger warnings, and at the end there might be an Author's note (A/N).

Y/N is a 15 year old orphan. They have been through many homes in which have all been abusive either mentally or physically. They always found themselves out of the "homes" within 3 weeks. This story will be SBI x Reader. I will be using they/ them pronouns, so if that bothers you, this is not the story for you. There will be no shipping in this story, just overall a wholesome (ish) story. There will be some sensitive topics such as cussing, ptsd, eating disorder, self harm, and overpowering thoughts. (I guess?? Basically if Tommy never betrayed Technoblade. Basically inspired by a lot of stories similar to this. Anyway here's the actual description below ⬇️) Exile. One of the worst things that happened to Tommy and believe me, loads of bad things has happened to him. But being stuck in a single place, far away from his friends and family and with a blob that has taken two of his canon lives and who may have plans of his own, has to be up there in Tommy's list of Worse Things that Has Happened to Me. So he ran away. Whether he snuck into Technoblade's house was intentional or not is honestly up in the air to debate. But when it came to it, Tommy had two choices. To stay with his supposed elder brother who is not dead or go back to the people who turned their backs on him. He picked the first choice. Now Tommy has to live with the fact that he and Tubbo may not be able to repair their friendship and that the country that he helped build is basically f*cked! But that is not the end of the story. He knew the routine, get adopted, get abused, get put back into the orphanage, repeat. But when this family of three is kind to him, what's gonna happen? How will he react? And how will he fuck this one up? So just to put out there, Tubbo is the neighbor across the street- not part of the family.
