The summer of 1899 begins with death, and ends all the same. When Albus Dumbledore is pulled from Hogwarts in his final weeks at the precipice of a world tour he is dragged back to the reality of Godrics Hollow to care for his sister Ariana, believed to be a 'squib' by the Wizarding folk of the town. Bleakness quells Dumbledores dreams of greatness until one fateful day when Bathilda Bagshots nephew arrives at the front door, starting a spiral of curiousity, infatuation and love that leads to disaster.

Chapters 57-58: 1981, Albus is struggling with secrets he can't tell anyone but cannot keep bottled up inside him any longer. Who can he trust to not tell anyone? Answer, Gellert Grindelwald who is locked up in Nurmengard for life after his battle with Albus but accepts his fate as in the end he has remorse Chapters 59-61: 1992-1996, Albus' yearly presents and visits to Grindelwald as a way to keep his ex-lover going in his isolating cell. They discuss what is happening outside the walls as well as things they never thought to discuss when they were together. She had practically grown up on her own, as her mother does not care about her all that much since her father left their lives. She has never received any glory in her life, but that has made her wish for it at all times. With her going at Hogwarts, she attempts to find the glory she knows she deserves, and her first opportunity to do so is by befriending the son of the hero of the wizarding world, Harry Potter. However, her attempts fail as Albus is quite the suspicious guy. She keeps being persistent though, and after some years, her attempt to befriend him does work out.
