California Gothic

Morgana, a Vampire and fledgling reporter, lives in a world that could only be described as a fantasy; where humans, Vampires, Orcs, Elves and other mythic races coexist in a tumultuous society. Her life is thrown into chaos when the story of a missing teenage girl lands on her desk. When pushed to investigate she begins to climb down a rabbit hole that leads her to the dark recesses of the city; forced to go undercover as a sex worker into the mysterious and alluring underworld. On her quest for the truth, she will encounter undead gangsters, shadowy cultists and a dark, divine horror unlike anything she'd ever seen. Her journey will turn her life upside down, jeopardizing her relationships and putting herself and her loved ones in mortal danger. Through the strength of her friends she will overcome perils as well as find love in forms she never knew existed. The only question remains: will she find the missing girl or will this new life she's found consume her? The year is 1996 and Los Angeles is a strange and sensuous place.

(AUTHOR'S NOTE: This story is still very much a work in progress. Though it is completed there will be minor edits made through out the run to achieve a more polished product. I'm currently working with an editor to make this process more efficient. We seek to have a definitive version by next year.)
