The Quickhall Mercenary Association has been connecting clients with hired hitmen and acquisitors for almost a century, but they haven't had a job this big since... well, ever.

Enina is living day by day, working with what little money she gets from jobs and struggling to keep up with the rent for her apartment. Ever since the food poisoning fiasco that lost her a job cooking for one of the best restaurants in the Nation of Eriadrin, life's been tough. But when she's approached by a fairy with a proposition, all that could change - but can she trust him? What about all she'd be risking? She takes the job, hoping she might find someone from her past, but finds someone else instead - someone she'd been all too eager to forget.

Dusty's life has been anything but idealistic ever since he left his hometown in the forest, following nothing but his dreams of exploring the world. Sure, the first year was alright, but when the library he was working for closed down and he set out in pursuit of a questionable job offer, things took a turn for the worse. Now that he's finally escaped the darkest year of his life, Dusty's been taking jobs and trying to save up the money to go visit his family. Unfortunately, money's been running a little short recently. Until he gets offered the biggest job the Association's seen in decades - that is, if he can find a partner to do it with.

Do your genes, your parents, teachers, or your master determine who you will be in life? Can they set your value in the universe? 650 years ago the known species of the universe came together and signed the Alliance, a document that would help each race find its place in the universe. It granted freedom to some and the scant protection of slavery to others. Into this society a handful of children are born who will change it forever, if they can survive to adulthood. Here is the origin story of two of those children. Hathu is born to a man determined to make the universe bow to him and his species. Since he learned to talk, Hathu has been a disappointment to his father. He doesn't want to become a warrior, and he refuses to assert his dominance. When he accidentally overhears his father plotting against the Ir'Klahn empire, can Hathu stop him? Mik is born with no rights, destined to become a lifelong slave. His mother tries to protect him from this fate by running away and finding a home for them on a trading ship that travels from world to world. They are safe for now, but how long can they hide from the best trackers in the universe? This is the first book in the My Kingdom Come series. Updates every Tuesday. :) My 2021 Nanowrimo so please excuse the unedited condition of the story. Be warned: there is violence, rape, murder, abuse, self harm and suicidal thoughts in this story. Atticus Deane was just a boy; a broken, misguided boy. It was an accident; no one told him how to play life's game. He had to make up his own rules, but where did that get him? In an abusive relationship with his older brother and all his bad friends. That wasn't what he bargained for. But Atticus left that life behind; he was rebuilding a new apartment and doing the same with a new life. Well, trying. Atticus and his brother never got along after their parents left. He never spoke a word to his brother if it weren't mean and cruel, which was why a request to join in on his big brother's 'fun' and 'games' was a surprise to everyone, much less himself. But when things are taken way too far, Atticus is suddenly running and ends up at the doorstep of an unusual compound that sparks something in his instincts. Taking refuge away from the poison of others, Atticus knew that he couldn't hide forever, but he'd do anything to be left alone so he didn't have to hide anymore. Unfortunately he wasn't the only resident in this newly-found dwelling, because this newcomer wanted the exact same thing that he did.
