Dora is a lonely and introverted girl. She spends most of her days alone in her room, reading books and listening to old music. She doesn't feel the need to make friends and she never bonded with anybody at school.
She lives with her mother Gaby and her brother Daniel in the outskirts of London while her father is an archaeologist and lives far away, divorced from her mother. Her mother is rarely at home, living her life at the fullest. She's in her forties, she still is a very good-looking and charming woman who is always surrounded by new lovers.
The house is therefore mainly inhabited by Dora and her brother, who often brings some friends, menacing Dora's desire for quiet.
Dora firmly believes that she doesn't need anything nor anyone, but her life changes once she meets the new girl in school, Emily.
