A six year old boy, Timothy Miler, goes through traumatizing events by witnessing his own mother murder both his father and uncle.
His mother teaches him that the world is a place in need of correction. That the people in it are separated into two sections, the pure and the vandals. His mother shows him that it's their duty to rescue the pure and put them on their path to 'the better land'. They don't consider it as murdering but as saving. They believe that by drawing two lines of the 'rescued's' own blood across their cheek marks them as pure and signals to 'those above' to take them away.
According to them, those who are not pure, the vandals, deserve punishing. They deserve to suffer. They also believe that by drawing one line of blood it signals to 'those above' that they are not pure and stops them from taking them to 'the better place'. Leaving their soul trapped in their lifeless corpse to rot.
In his mind, he's a savior. He was never taught any different. He doesn't consider himself a murder. He is completely unaware of the vicious things he does...
