The story set it in an alternate world where there lives two civilisations nicknamed Day and Night. The Day people ,called Rays, thrive in the sunshine on the contrary the Night people, called Shadowers , survive only in the nighttime. Both having completely different cultures and rules, Rays are more friendly society where as shadows tend to enjoy fighting and have a rather "eye for an eye" look at justice. Both societies would rather be caught dead then in the others domain.
Night and Day surrounds the life of our main charecter Alex, one of the toughest shadows nicknamed Midnight. However when her father and mother are murdered, her eldest brother sako becomes her guardian. One problems however Sako is a ray and under day and night laws she must turn over her rough past and join the kinder society and even go to school with her ray twin named Luke. On top of all of her new problems she finds out a shadow assassin is after her and her best friend Sam for a crime her father committed
