The life of the Horsemen is lonely and remarkably boring, at least when the Council has no need their services. Strife, still struggling with his past and inner demons, is therefore happy to come across an enclave of rather unorthodox angels, who sought to escape the restrictions of the White City. With the rift between him and his siblings growing, he finds himself returning to this enclave time and time again across the centuries, forming unlikely friendships with angels and demons alike.
