Creak.
I open the door. Look to both sides. Run down the hallway. I'm surprised they left an exit so near to my room. No one's around. It's quiet. Too quiet. But I don't give myself time to think. I see the door- the handle. I reach for it, I hesitate. No. No matter what is out there, what can be worse than in here? So I open it. Worst decision I ever made.
The alarms immediately go off. Blaring, loud, strong, could wake the dead maybe. My point is you couldn't miss it. All of a sudden they come rushing down the hallway towards me. Then I panic. I realize there is no one in front of me, no one at the door, no one outside. So I simply ran out. Yup, straight out the door. Into the street. I lock it behind me and prop one of the metal bins that holds garbage against the door to hold them off. Easy as that. I'm free. I'm free. I'm free.....
I turn around. I'm not free. I've simply escaped from one metaphorical prison to another. I hope this one is better.

Helen's parents demand that she marry the man they've chosen for her or be disowned. She chooses to be disowned. But that isn't good enough for them. They make sure that she either doesn't get jobs or they make sure that she gets fired from them. She loses her apartment and all her things do to them. They are sure that she'll give in and marry the man they've chosen rather than live on the streets. But then again, they've never really paid much attention to their daughter unless they wanted something from her. Helen would rather live on the streets and eat out of garbage dumpsters then return to her parents and marry the man that would make her life a living hell. At least on the streets she's free. She might starve or freeze to death but she'll be free. Then one day three men come after her, intent on forcing her and beating her for what little she has. Before one of them does more than grab her arm the three are gone. Helen looks down and finds them on the ground with their hearts torn out of the bodies. In life, we do things we regret, or that we wish we could wipe from our memory forever. At the age of 15, I didn't think I'd regret anything until I was an adult. I considered myself care free. I lived life one day at a time. Well, as much as a 15 year old can. But in life, there are also things that we can't change, that we can't forget. Circumstances change, events occur, and life as we know it is altered forever. For me, it was one night, that set in motion a series of events that I wouldn't be able to forget, even if I tried to. *************************** My life was spectacular, or cool, but I was content, and that's all that mattered. I wasn't overly popular, I wasn't the prettiest girl, and I didn't live in a mansion. I did have a great boyfriend, and amazing friends, and hell, I wasn't doing too bad in school either. But that all changed one night, as I was walking home at night. I witnessed a man murder someone he claimed was a snitch, something to do with a gang deal gone wrong. When I found my parents dead the next day in a serial killers wet dream, my naive self decided the best thing I could do, was run, giving up everything I loved. “Hey faggot!” I winced at the sound of the one and only star quarter back. He wasn't wrong, I was gay, but that word was just so offensive. I hated that I came out, hated the fact more than you could ever guess. It had cost me all but three of my friends, most of my freedom and every second that had been left of my childhood. When I loudly and discourteously turned down the prettiest girl in the whole school she screamed at me “what, are you gay?!” to which I decided to truthfully reply “yeah, got a problem with that?!” At the time I felt triumphant, giddy even and shouted at the top of my lungs 'I'm gay!' it had felt so good...but it wasn't worth the price I had to pay...not a week later I went from one of the top five popular guys to having three friends, had the shit beaten out of me at least once a week and went from relatively care-free to being the man of the house, a mom when mom couldn't be there, the cook the cleaner and the surrogate father three days later after I killed my father. I may have not been holding a smoking gun or bloody knife, but it was my fault he died all the same, even if the cops didn't see it.Zakończone

The year is 2096. Computers, and other recognition software with them, have grown infinitely more powerful since the 2010s. Business is thriving. People are running about, living their lives, and generally enjoying themselves with their new 'smart' devices, which, for better or for worse, are actually living up to their name. Finally. Enter outcast Vincent Schorennherr. Her parents [emphasis on her] parents wanted a boy, no luck on that account, and they let her know that every day. You think that's not so bad? Think again. "Sorry, Vincent, but you're going to school anyways, flu or no flu." Well, just before first period, a 'conveniently'-timed password-entry prompt pops on on her phone screen, right as she: 1) Presses the sensor, and 2): sneezes, spreading rhinoviruses all over herself and her phone. She wipes the phone off and goes to class,thinking nothing more of the incident until the next day, when she goes to turn it on and gets a kill screen: "Fatal Error 81-141. The flu's contagious, didn't you know that? Bye now, gone to play Caesar- Veni, vidi, vici and all that." With that, her phone blinks off, and within hours, other phones begin to follow suit. With panic on the rise, and global tensions rapidly following suit, can Vincent and her friends find the cure before it's hard shutdown? **NaNoWriMo 2017** Complete in the sense that I'll probably never write any more of this story. I never thought I'd actually do this.... I've thought about it but never actually gone through with it.... The voice in my head has been screaming at me for years... But I never actually tried to do... This... It's hard to be around people when you have someone telling you to tear their throats out with your teeth... But it's worse when you're alone. She tells me to do terrible things to myself... Tells me I'm worthless... Unloved....Expendable... Of course I believe her. She's in my head for Christ's sakes how can I not believe her. It's so hard...I gave in...I had no choice...the temptation is so strong. I can't hug people without wondering what it would feel like to thrust a knife into their back and feel their bodies jerk in surprise as they slowly began to realize...that they're dying.....they're being murdered...and not by a complete stanger...but by a person that they love....that they thought they could trust....oh god I want to...give in.....
